perpetual journeys

We’re Luke & Hayley/Perpetual Journeys.

A couple from the UK with a love for travel & photography.

We’re both from the same small town in Hertfordshire and met when we were 15. After a few sessions on good ole MSN, we were a couple – oh young love!

We both attended university. Luke studied Sport & Business in Southampton and went on to do a Masters in Strategic Marketing. Hayley studied Psychology at University of Leicester with the previous dream of becoming an Educational Psychologist.

After university, when we found ourselves back in our tiny hometown and in our spare time either downing G&Ts or binge-watching Netflix, we decided that we needed to pursue our dream of full-time travel.

Despite the pressure to build a career, earn good money & get a mortgage, we decided that the fear of missing out on a trip of a lifetime was too difficult to ignore.

So in 2017, we packed our backpacks & left with a one-way ticket to Sri Lanka.

Despite being together for 10 years, we still learnt so much about each other while travelling Asia, that’s a great pro about travelling with your partner. We are better than ever as a couple, after sharing all the challenges and amazing experiences you have while exploring the world.

Since Sri Lanka, we’ve visited:

India

Thailand

Laos

Vietnam

Cambodia

Malaysia

Singapore

Indonesia

Australia

Dubai

Turkey

Morocco

Italy

Towards the end of our travels in Asia, we created Perpetual Journeys with the hope to encourage others to see the world. To share photos that spark wanderlust and provide tips and guides to help with other people’s own adventures.

“Because in the end, you won’t remember the time you spent working in the office or mowing your lawn. Climb that goddamn mountain.”

Hey guys! I love your story! I can definitely relate to having that travel bug. I admire you for having the courage to just buy that one-way ticket and go! (I haven’t made it that far myself) I look forward to reading your stories. If you ever plan to go to China and need travel tips or recommendations, send me an email! I spent 5 months studying abroad there and it’s a wonderful country!
